“The most important contribution of this report is that it highlights the very important health and economic benefits of combating climate change and shows that these benefits are greater than the cost of preventing climate change,” said Professor Philip Landrigan, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in the United States, in a commentary accompanying the paper. Rose, S. K., Diaz, D.B. – Blanford, G. J. Understanding the social cost of carbon: a model diagnosis and inter-comparison study. I`m Alim Chang. 08, 1750009 (2017). We note that the Paris Agreement is also optimal for the management of these three cost-cutting functions (Figure 7). The dispersion of results for each PNP is rather small, which shows that potential errors in adjustment are negligible for the results. The president`s promise to renegotiate the international climate agreement has always been a smokescreen, the oil industry has a red phone at the Home Office, and will Trump bring food trucks to Old Faithful? Other tests also show robustness compared to other socio-economic assumptions described by SSP25 (Figure 6). As the cost-cutting function is greatly simplified in DICE, we examine how our results evolve with functions that describe different technological opportunities in the future (Fig. 7).
Like the differences between the results of a number of injury functions, the uncertainty of mitigation costs is reflected in an optimal level of derived warming. Nevertheless, the mitigation costs resulting from the different PSS tend to be lower (1.8 degrees Celsius, 1.9 degrees Celsius, 2.0 degrees Fahrenheit). As stated in the main text, the effects of future damage, which are developing according to BHM estimates, have so far been studied on the basis of predefined scenarios of warming and economic growth. A significant contribution from Ricke et al.9 concludes that the BHM`s estimates are related to a fairly high social carbon price, which could indicate that an optimal policy should be severe. Burke et al.8 show that a significant reduction in damage is possible if the temperature increase is limited to 1.5 degrees Celsius or 2 degrees Celsius.
